I am a firm believer in exposing children to “real” books.
This probably makes me a children’s book snob. Oh, well!
But what makes a book “real”?
First, it is a book that has become a “classic” because of it’s quality or has stood the test of time.
Second, it is written by author who is passionate about children’s books. This means NOT books that are promoted by popular TV or Movie characters.
The best way to start your library of “real” books is to find children’s authors you like.
Go to the library, check them ALL out , then start looking to purchase them for your collection in bookstores, bargain stores, or online.
Thees “real” books become “real” treasures!
